February is truly the month of love, which includes relationships with your girls. Celebrated on February 13, the world was introduced to Galentine’s Day on the second season of Parks and Recreation. The fictional deputy director of the show, Leslie Knope, showed us her favorite February tradition involving brunch and gifts celebrating friendships with women.
We’re here for a day to celebrate the women – especially Black women – who love us during those highs and lows.
Are you and the girls planning a Galentine’s Day slay-cation away from home? Here are five destinations perfect for Black women under $400 round-trip.
Atlanta, Georgia, For Under $100 Round-Trip
Atlanta is a top city for Black people despite the “everyone always wants to move to the A” hate the city constantly gets. But here’s the thing: Atlanta is popular among Black people for a reason, especially for Black women.
For starters, Atlanta has a variety of options for us! There’s always something new popping up on the scene. There’s something for everyone to do, from Black-owned spas, Black-owned restaurants, and unique experiences, such as the Black-owned ranch where you can meditate while horseback riding.
And when you consider the fact that Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is a major airport hub, it means it’s a city that offers easy access for a getaway.

Tampa, Florida, For Under $100 Round-Trip
Speaking of Florida, if you and the girls want a beach stay away from Miami, then add Tampa to the list. Don’t get us wrong, Miami is a vibe, but it’s often overcrowded and overpriced. Thankfully, Tampa is here to save the day.
Tampa is a beautiful city with a more laid-back feel. If the goal is to spend quality time with your girls since work, relationships, and everything else often gets in the way, Tampa offers plenty of activities where you can be intentional about how you all spend your time.
Once you book your Galentine’s Day trip, Travel Noire has a guide on how to spend a day in Black-owned Tampa here. Regarding where to stay, we highly recommend the city’s South Howard – or SOHO – district. SOHO is trendy and in the city’s heart, where you will probably spend a lot of time shopping, eating well, and partying. Ready to book your trip?
