Beverley Ugwu, aka @knivestomeetyou, has gained millions of views on posts within her “Is It Worth The Wait?” TikTok series. It explores some of London’s (possibly overhyped) viral food spots—and Ugwu dishes on where your coins are worth the good eats.

In her latest episode, the Londoner visited Le Relais de Venise L’entrecôte in Marylebone. Called “L’entrecôte” for short, the Parisian bistro is known for serving double helpings of steak frites (aka steak and french fries) to all those willing to wait in line for a seat.

Ugwu waited around an hour with other steak-hungry foodies when she went. She noted that L’entrecôte’s Marylebone visitors start queuing 20 minutes before its midday open time. Notably, the Marylebone location is not the original and is one of two in the United Kingdom’s capital.

The TikToker highlighted that for £31, she enjoyed her multi-course meal. The first serving was a walnut salad with “crusty French bread” followed by her first helping of steak frites. Ugwu highlighted that the establishment didn’t supply butter for her bread but the table next to her kindly shared some that they’d brought in.

Patrons have the option of medium or rare steak. Ugwu’s video showed her meal served L’entrecôte’s “signature green sauce” on her premium meat and, beside it, a half-plate portion of golden crispy fries. She noted that before the first plate was finished, L’entrecôte servers came around and dished another round of steak frites.

Ugwu voiced minor grievances with her meal. She wished the salad had less dressing. Also, she wasn’t blown away by the green steak sauce. Regardless, she appreciated L’entrecôte’s “speedy service.”

She highlighted the restaurant’s dessert menu, which she “never hears anyone talk about.” Off the latter, she had a “cheeky mango and raspberry sorbet” that was “refreshing.”

Overall Ugwu said L’entrecôte Marylebone is worth the wait.

Is L’Entrecôte worth the wait? People are willing to wait up to 2 hours just to try L’Entrecôte’s famous steak and fries. I mean for £31, you get a salad with bread to start, and then not one but TWO helpings of steak and fries. So in a city where it costs £27.54 just to breathe, one thing is undeniable – it’s cracking value for money. I waited just a little under an hour to get into L’Entrecôte, but do I think it was worth the wait? Well you’ll have to watch and find out. #lentrecote #lentrecotelondon #lerelaisdelentrecote #londonfrenchfood #londonfrenchrestaurant #frenchfoodlondon #steaklondon #londonsteak #marylebone

What Does Beverley Ugwu Feature In Her ‘Is It Worth The Wait’ Series?

Ugwu’s series is all about braving lengthy wait times to see if popular London food spots with long lines are worth the wait. In another episode, she loved the burger she ate at Supernova in Soho but felt the fries fell short.

When she reviewed Dim Sum Duck, she happily reported that the spot was worth the wait years after she first dined there. She spoke of the beloved King’s Cross eatery, saying, “It was worth the wait. I feel like an hour wait wasn’t that bad for the quality of the food. It was good.”

Elsewhere in her series, Ugwu shared her four favorite food spots in Menorca. Her picks were Can Joanet, La Casa Del Gelato, Llucasaldent Gran, and Pins 46.
