Semicolon Bookstore

Located in Wicker Park, Semicolon is the only Black- and woman-owned bookstore and gallery space in the city. The space has been serving book lovers since 2019 and continues to serve underrepresented communities. The bookstore’s #ClearTheShelves initiative allows Chicago Public School (CPS) students to take home books that inspire them for free. 

Explore sections of the bookstore such as “For the Shawtys” and “Women Doin’ Their Thang” for your latest read.

Plant Salon

If you’re a plant lover or plant parent, this Chicago plant shop will be your latest obsession. With shops in West Town and Bucktown, this Black woman-owned shop has a great selection of house plants, candles, mugs, t-shirts, and gorgeous pots.

Eb & Flow Yoga Studio

Get moving and relax your mind with Eb & Flow Yoga Studio. This Black women-owned studio has a mission to enhance the physical and mental health of everyone that comes to their classes. If you’re not in the Chicago area, there are interactive online to channel your inner Om. 

The Silver Room

Find local and global items while in this Hyde Park gem. The Silver Room has been serving community, art, and culture since 1997 and is a great place to find clothes, jewelry, bags, candles, and more.
