Headed to Philadelphia any time soon? Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway from a nearby city like New York or D.C. or want to venture to the city of “Brotherly Love” to take in some American history or have a Philly cheesecake — we are here to help you figure out which neighborhoods to choose from so you can book your accommodations and explore.

Rittenhouse

This upscale neighboorhood is packed with chic cafés, five-star hotels, and patio filled restaurants. If this neighborhood interests you, the boutique hotel Rittenhouse 1715 is a favorite among Philly visitors. The four-star property boasts over 300 five star reviews and is known for its charming decor, exceptional service, and its accessible location. The Rittenhouse neighborhood also has a bunch of budget-friendly Airbnbs like this cozy studio located just off the square.

Center City

Philadelphia’s business district, also known as “Center City,” is home to the Philadelphia Stock Exchange and Pennsylvania Convention Center. The location is also a canvas for street artists and the self-proclaimed foodie. Reading Terminal Market offers up Amish treats (which are not to be missed) and well-known Philly food favorites, and with Chinatown close by, you’ll never be without great food options. If you’re looking for a place to lay your head in-between sightseeing in the Museums District at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the traditional hotel is your vibe, the Loews Hotel is located in the heart of City Center and offers complimentary Wi-Fi in every guestroom.

Old City

The streets of Old City are filled with iconic architecture and American history. If you’re a history buff, you can take in the history of how the U.S. Constitution came to be or take a walk down Two Street and nearby Market and Chestnut streets to visit trendy galleries and grab a bite at a café. Find a hotel in this area is also ideal since the pet-friendly, Hotel Monaco and their Stratus Rooftop Lounge is nearby – or skip the traditional room and opt for this Airbnb “gem.”

Society Hill

Just south of Old City lies one of Philly’s most prestigious neighborhoods, but the bespoke neighborhood is right on the edge of millennial favorite South Street. The street is lined with nightclubs, tattoo shops, and local favorite Jim’s Steaks. In this neighborhood, an Airbnb is likely the best way to go for two reasons: you’ll get a chance to hang out with the locals, and you might even get to stay in a historic home.
