Rose Petal Café
Located in Germantown, this cozy refuge serves up rose petals-and whipped cream topped- strawberry waffles and other delicious breakfast and lunch items six days a week. Location: 322 W. Chelten Avenue.

A renowned Eri-Ethiopian restaurant and bar that has been feeding the community, by hand, for over 30 years. Located at 4708 Baltimore Avenue.
Franny Lou’s Porch
A literal and figurative source of community sustenance, this café offers local-inspired espresso drinks and teas with a side of activism and drum class. You can find the plant-filled café at 2400 Coral Street.
Youma’s Restaurant
A newcomer on the block, this Senegalese spot brings patrons a taste of Dakar with dibi (grilled lambchops), fatata (beef patties), and yassa (spicy grilled chicken with habanero and green pepper).
Hakim’s Bookstore and Giftshop
One of the country’s oldest Black-owned bookstores founded nearly 60 years ago by Dawud Hakim. This family-friendly shop gives the perfect blend of old-school vibes and proud activism. Address: 210 52nd Street.
Perfectly Flawless Boutique
Owner Crystal Jackson has created the perfect one-stop-shop for all things beauty. Come in and shop for edgy jumpsuits and going out wear then get your makeup done by the on-site aesthetician. You can even treat yourself to a manicure and a new hairstyle while you are at it. Location: 5312 Germantown Avenue.
The Sable Collective
Located in North Philly, this spot is a resource for women of color. Here you will find everything from affirmation flag pennants, Ankara-print socks, and Cuban leather bags to book-clubs and yoga workshops.
Amalgam Comics & Coffeehouse
The owner, Ariell R. Johnson, is the first African-American woman on the East cost to own a comic book shop. You can find your favorite Marvel and DC comics stocked here in addition to big time and self-published books for grown-ups. Don’t leave without trying one of the comic-book-hero-themed cupcakes or special seasonal drinks.

The Colored Girls Museum
The first institution of its kind, this memoir museum honors the stories, experiences, and history of Colored Girls. Visitors will be treated to a Salon Style-Guided tour of a home that has been converted to a museum. Located in the historic Germantown neighborhood.
