New York’s LaGuardia Airport will have a new shortest route coming this September.

Delta Air Lines will start flying daily from LaGuardia Airport to Hartford, Connecticut (BDL), starting on September 6th. The route is only 101 miles, making it the shortest route flying out of LGA.

The route is 35 miles shorter than the current shortest flight, which is also operated by Delta from LGA to New York State’s capital, Albany (ALB).

Endeavor Air, a Delta Connection partner, will be operating the 101-mile flight, up to three times a day. The flight time is an hour in the air in each direction.

This new route will connect Hartford with Delta’s NYC hub. This means travelers from Hartford will have connections to more destinations through LaGuardia’s new Terminal C. Currently, delta flights to Atlanta (ATL), Detroit (DTW) and Minneapolis/St. Paul (MSP) from Hartford.
