After six years, New York’s LaGuardia Airport’s Terminal C renovations are complete. This terminal will serve Delta Airlines. LaGuardia Airport was infamous for its flight delays, lack of amenities, and cramped hallways.
In December 2021, LaGuardia held the title as the best new airport by an international panel of judges.
Delta Chief Executive Officer Ed Bastian says, “Airports can feel very impersonal, this has personality already. With this new facility, truly the sky is the limit.”
A new transportation hub and artwork curated by the Queens Museum will follow the $4 billion renovations.
Terminal B and a new American Airlines wing had a January opening after six years of renovations. That terminal has 35 gates, a sky bridge, a parking garage, and almost 50 new restaurants, shops, and services. Its Central Hall connects to Terminal C.
New York’s Governor Hochul says, “The transformation of a LaGuardia Airport into a world-class destination that is internationally recognized for its beauty is an integral part of our bold vision for a new era in New York.”
The new terminal include amazing restaurants, shopping, state-of-the-art bathrooms and more.

What Terminal C offers
The terminal is 1.3 million square feet and is 85% larger than the two terminals it replaced. The renovation consolidated Terminal C and D. Travelers will have access to 37 gates through one arrivals and departures hall.
The floor-to-ceiling windows bring in natural light during the day and a view of the outside world during the night.
There are 13 restrooms in the new terminal. All of the restrooms have touch-free entry, hand dryers, and sinks.
Food and shopping in Terminal C
Hungry travelers will delight in the new food choices, in partnership with OTG. Food choices include local and national eateries like Bubby’s, Chuco Ramen, Sunday Supper Trattoria, Poppy’s Bagel, and Starbucks.
Shoppers can enjoy retail stores such as Le Labo, Briggs & Riley, MAC, Buzzfeed News, and Beekman 1802.
Technology at Terminal C
Travelers will be able to get to their gates quickly thanks to technology. The terminal offers hands-free bag drop and digital ID screening.
There are 36 check-in counters, 49 self-service kiosks, and 16 bag-drop counters in the departures hall.
Travelers can go through the security screening area faster using the curbside check-in building.
The larger security area features 11 screening lanes. There is room for five lanes to be added in the future.
LaGuardia’s Terminal C is home to the largest and newest Delta Sky Club, with over 34,000 square feet for lounging and seating for almost 600 travelers.
