Jenesis Laforcarde is on a mission to open Arizona’s first female, Black-owned, all-inclusive wellness resort. A 13-room destination retreat specializing in providing a luxury self-care experience, The Jenesis House is heavily inspired by African and Asian influences, in reflection of Laforcarde’s cultural background. The resort will be located in historic Prescott, Arizona, within close proximity to Phoenix, Sedona, and the Grand Canyon Railroad.
The Jenesis House launched a series of exclusive experiences designed to help guests indulge in self-care. The retreats offer guests the opportunity to nourish their creativity, disconnect from their daily lives and reconnect with what’s important.
“We are not franchising a brand, we are creating our own,” Laforcarde told Travel Noire in a recent interview. “Over the past few years, we have been telling our story through our line of candles and wellness products, which resulted in numerous inquiries from people around the world who are eager to book a stay at The Jenesis House.”
The retreat series was created to meet this growing demand and also offer unique, one-of-a-kind experiences for those seeking something refreshing. With its desert oasis luxury retreats, The Jenesis House has partnered with three properties to perform complete resort takeovers.
Chèque In: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
The Chèque In: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico retreat takes place on dates in May, June, July and October.
Curated as an all-inclusive experience designed for those seeking rejuvenation, The Jenesis House has completed a full occupation of this secluded oceanfront resort located 20 short minutes from Cabo San Lucas proper. The result is an opportunity for guests to inhabit one of 16 gorgeous guest rooms set upon five secluded acres flanked by the Baja desert on one side with the other caressed by the Pacific Ocean.
This isolated, solar-powered property boasts a spacious clubhouse and a refreshing saltwater pool with a hot tub. Additionally, there are two yoga studios, a picturesque viewing deck and a magical stone labyrinth.
Chèque Out: Marrakech, Morocco
For its Chèque Out: Marrakech, Morocco retreat available on dates in November, The Jenesis House selected a truly magical location. Lanterns cast a soft glow on the red walls and brick courtyard of this traditionally inspired retreat outside Marrakech.
The 20 bedrooms are furnished with classic Moroccan rugs as well as streamlined modern furnishings. The setting was inspired by the works of fashion at the nearby Yves Saint Laurent Museum and the Majorelle Garden.
Chèque Ya Self: Sedona, Arizona
The Chèque Ya Self: Sedona, Arizona retreat takes place on dates in June through October, and some in December. Located on the banks of Oak Creek, surrounded by Red Rock Canyons, this retreat is located minutes from downtown Sedona. The area features endless outdoor adventures on both land and water.
The Dome is a 12,000-square-foot unique structure on 4.7 acres and will provide a one-of-a-kind experience. The property is nestled between two vortexes, allowing magnificent energy to ooze with healing properties. The Dome houses ten guest studios, each available for up to two guests. It also includes a private commercial kitchen, saltwater swimming pool, luxurious spa, outdoor lounges, rooftop deck, movement room, Himalayan salt room, five spa treatment rooms and five quiet rooms for private healing sessions all in the audience of majestic red clay canyons. Sedona is the perfect space to enjoy the healing energy and raw beauty of Sedona.
Guests of each retreat will enjoy chef-prepared fresh meals, designer cocktails, local excursions, meditation, daily movement classes and much more.
“At The Jenesis House, our focus is on helping guests achieve inner wellness,” Laforcarde said. “We provide a memorable and transformative experience through our team of experts, offering a range of programs and activities to suit all interests and fitness levels, from yoga and spa treatments to hiking and camel-back riding. With each retreat location boasting its own distinctive charm and culture, there is something for everyone at our retreats.”
History in the Making
“Just like our hand-crafted products, 100 percent of the profits from our retreats go towards our mission to become the first female, Black-owned, adult-only resort in Prescott, Arizona,” Laforcarde said. “The first Jenesis House Resort will offer a spa, healing arts, farm-to-table nutrition and complete wellness experiences in a beautiful, energy-efficient, sustainable setting.”
The Jenesis House will be raising its Prescott resort in the upcoming weeks. At this time, it is actively seeking investors who support its philosophy in hospitality. Each of the resort’s 13 guest studios, will feature a soaking tub and private meditation garden, as well as a living moss wall to create a natural air filter. Other amenities will include movement studios, a farm-to-table restaurant, a full-service holistic spa and hydrotherapy pools. In addition, the resort will be home to a Nordic spa, which is a centuries-old tradition that alternates hot, cold, and relaxation for an out-of-body experience, and plunge pool. The Nordic spa will be also Prescott’s first.
