Questlove admittedly has mixed feelings about not wearing shoes and socks during flights.
In a recent interview, The Roots drummer and co-founder shared his opinions about flying barefoot. According to what he told Thrillist, he isn’t necessarily opposed to being up in the air barefoot as long as nobody close to him has sweaty, smelly feet.
“I might be slightly guilty of, well, I don’t know,” Questlove stated. “For me, I feel like Crocs are about as close as you can get to fuzzy bunny rabbit slippers and the feeling of walking on your rug at home barefoot, on a plane. However, I’ve also been subjected to many corn chip-smelling seat partners, so it depends on what the sweat action is in the ankles.”
What Else Did Questlove Say About Travel?
The longtime musician spoke about his flying preferences during the Stella Artois x Questlove Cheesesteak Pop-Up Diner Event at the 2024 Roots Picnic in early June.
Questlove raved about his ideal way of air travel, JetBlue Mint. Also, he listed a mini speaker, a sketch pad, and hard drives as his travel essentials.
The Oscar-winning Summer of Soul director added that he travels with breath mints because of his “propensity for foods that are garlicky.” He also said he travels with “about 10 crystals,” which he always keeps by his nightstands.
The musician didn’t specify what type of crystals he usually jet-sets with. That said, a pair of Crocs he rocked to the 2023 Oscars proves he’s truly “obsessed” with them. The stunning Savant Studios custom pair of Salehe Bembury Pollex Clogs featured 15 crystal varieties.
Elsewhere in his Thrillist interview, Questlove shared that he’s not fond of private jets. Another tidbit was that his standard drink order (when he can’t get JetBlue Mint’s “Mint Condition” sans alcohol) is cranberry juice with no ice.
