All hair is not created equal but that does not mean the task of finding a hairstylist that is bold with hair color techniques, yet gentle and caring with your tresses, should be hard to find.

We’ve compiled a list of 50 of the hottest, boldest, and most talented hair artists specializing in black hair around the country. Make sure you schedule your appointment when you’re ready to turn heads for the new year.


You can find Salon Ckim owner, Chanelle, traveling between Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, or her hometown of Montgomery, Alabama slaying units with bold and vivid colors. She also sells her own hair products.

Also based in Alabama, Birmingham to be exact, is hairstylist and makeup artist Jenice Blevins. When it comes to hair, she’s definitely a pro!


Located in Phoenix by way of the DMV, Tywia Holmes is a multicultural hairstylist who can color just about any type of hair. She also specializes in cuts and braids, so if you’re in AZ and looking for a new do, make sure you stop by.


Bright and bold is Paige Coats’ signature. Located in Little Rock, Paige specializes in custom wigs, quick weaves, and hair color.
