It’s a new year and it’s time to make some plans. If traveling more is one of your goals this year, we’ve come across several dope early 2020 festivals and events across the country that you’ll want to plan for. After all, it’s about experiences over things, right?

(1) Super Bowl Weekend- Miami

We’re in the full swing of the NFL playoffs and we will soon know the two teams that will head out to Miami to vie for the title. From January 31 until February 2, fans and party-goers will flock to Miami and South Beach for a little fun, football, and sun.

(2) NBA All-Star- Chicago

If you love the game of basketball or attending star-studded events, then pack your bags and head to Chicago February 14-16. It could also be a cute baecation weekend since it falls on Valentine’s weekend too.

(3) Mardi Gras- New Orleans

Welcome to NOLA baby. From February 21-25 you can get an authentic taste of one of New Orlean’s most popular events. From parades and parties to food and culture, this one is worth the trip.

(4) CIAA Weekend- Charlotte

This year will be the last year that this tournament weekend is held in Charlotte. Over the years everyone that’s anyone from the entertainment industry has made their way to the Queen City for this turned up weekend. This year’s tournament and festivities will take place from February 25 through February 29.

(5) SXSW- Austin

This yearly gathering is a place for anyone interested in networking and connecting with others in all areas of media and entertainment. There will be panels, performances, and parties happening during the weekend which will take place from March 16-22.

(6) AfroNation- Puerto Rico

This music event celebrates all things AfroBeats and Caribbean inspired music. After successful events in Portugal and Ghana, AfroNation will make its way to Puerto Rico March 18-21.

(7) Dreamville Fest- Raleigh, NC

North Carolina native, J.Cole, created this one-day event to bring a major event back to the state. You can catch everyone on Dreamville’s roster and maybe a few other heavy hitters taking the stage on April 4.

(8) Coachella- California

After Beyonce shut things down in 2018, Coachella has gained even more of a following. This year you can catch The City Girls, 21 Savage, Ari Lennox, Da Baby and more hitting the stage for two amazing weekends in the desert. Festival weekends are April 10-12 and April 17-19.

(9) Something in the Water- Virginia Beach

Virginia native Pharrell Williams put on for his city and state with the introduction of this multi-day event. This year, from April 24-26, the rapper will bring out some of the best in the business for one of the hottest events of the year.

(10) Rolling Loud- Miami

This multi-day hip hop and rap event will happen May 8-10 in Miami. Past lineups have included Future, Chance the Rapper, Meek Mill, and Young Thug to name a few. The latest lineup hasn’t been released but you know it will be lit.

(11) Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic- New York

This event is the time to show off your flyest fits and suits. For one day only it’s your time to shine while enjoying champagne from one of the best brand’s around and a polo match. This year’s event will be held on June 6.
