Rapper Wiz Khalifa was arrested in Romania on July 13 for drug possession after his performance at the Beach, Please! festival in Costinești.
Born Cameron Jibril Thomaz, the 36-year-old addressed his foreign arrest via X on July 14. The Grammy-nominated artist didn’t deny sparking up on stage. The soon-to-be father of two — currently expecting his second child with his girlfriend, Aimee Aguilar — briefly shared his experience cooperating with the Romanian authorities. He noted that he was released from their custody.
Overall, Wiz said his Beach, Please! set went well and that he’d revisit Romania.
“Last night’s show was amazing. I didn’t mean any disrespect to the country of Romania by lighting up on stage,” the rapper told his nearly 36 million X followers. “They [the authorities] were very respectful and let me go. I’ll be back soon. But without a big ass joint next time.”

Why Was Wiz Khalifa Arrested And Charged In Romania?
Romania’s Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism issued a statement on July 14. The organization didn’t name Wiz specifically, but a translation of their alert outlined claims against the rapper. It was statedthat he “possessed over 18 grams of cannabis,” which is classified as a “risk drug.”
The Romanian authorities also accused the Pittsburgh-repping MC of smoking marijuana on stage via “a craft cigarette.”
“We make it clear that, during the entire criminal process, the investigated persons benefit from the procedural rights and guarantees provided by the Code of Criminal Procedure, as well as the presumption of innocence,” noted the source.

Costinești, where Beach, Please! occurred, is a city along Romania’s Black Sea coast. The rapper and Khalifa Kush founder was the music festival’s July 13 headliner. Others scheduled to perform included Rick Ross, NLE Choppa, Rich the Kid, and more.
Beach, Please! posted a video on July 16 of Wiz’s set, overlaid with his 2011 classic “Young, Wild And Free,” featuring Snoop Dogg and Bruno Mars. See the lyrics — and clip — below.
So we just roll one, smoke one
When you live like this, you’re supposed to party
Roll one, smoke one, and we all just having fun
So what we get drunk?
So what we smoke weed?
We’re just having fun
We don’t care who sees
So what we go out?
That’s how it’s supposed to be
Living young and wild and free.
