This City In Italy Will Cover Your Travel Expenses
As if the major cities in Italy such as Rome, Venice, and Milan aren’t enough, you must travel to the northeast region called Friuli Venezia Giulia. Once you arrive in Italy, you take a train to one of their provinces and you’ll be reimbursed. This region has everything you can ask for when it comes to an amazing trip. Beautiful mountains, museums, rich in history, plenty of wine country and some of Italy’s best beaches.
Composed of provinces, Udine, Pordenone, Gorizia, and Trieste, Friuli Venezia Giulia wants visitors to experience it all. And if getting your train ticket expenses reimbursed isn’t enough, they also provide you with an FVGcard. Which gives you free entry to museums, public transportation, and discounts from local businesses. The only commitment you need to make is to stay a minimum of two nights in one of the hotels that are subscribed to the program FVG government is providing.
From today until May 31st, 2023 the tourist board will be refunding train fares to travelers arriving in the cities of Trieste and Udine as well as the coastal resorts Grado and Lignano Sabbiadore. Visitors can also travel on Trenitalia trains, regional or intercity lines as well as the high-speed Frecce lines. However you must book at least a minimum two-night package that includes one of the accommodations that is a part of the promotion. Also with this package you’ll receive your free FVGcard which gives you access to museums and guided tours, either complimentary or at a discounted rate.
Where To Go
Trieste is considered one of the major cities of the region. With influences from Austria and Hungary dating back to pre World War I, you’ll see architecture and culture within the older areas of the city as well as some Roman-esque vibes.
The province of Udine is known for being a part of the Venetian and Austrian empires. It is the province that most represents Friuli Venezia Giulia. Inside of a castle turned into a museum you can see the works of famous italian painters Caravaggio and Tiepolo as well as visiting one of their cathedrals from the 13th century.
Grado and Lignano Sabbiadoro are FVG’s two beach destinations. Grado has been called “mother of venice” structured from islands inside a lagoon. Lignano Sabbiadoro is home to the Adriatic Sea’s top beach resorts which features a bubble-shaped pier extending over the water called “Terrazza a Mare”.
