Qatar Airways Tells Passenger She's Too Big To Fly
Qatar Airways denied a plus-sized model from boarding her flight because she was too big to fit in her economy seat. However, the airline claims she was “extremely rude and aggressive” to the check-in staff.
You Can Upgrade
After spending the holidays with her family, Juliana Nehme said in an Instagram post that she was not allowed to board her flight. Qatar Airways had asked Nehme to pay $3,000 to upgrade to a first- class seat and refused to give her a refund of $947.
Not Welcome For Being Fat

“I bought a return ticket to Brazil through Qatar and arriving at the time to check in, a Qatar flight attendant called my mother while another staffer was finishing our check-in, and told her I wasn’t welcome to board because I’m fat,” Nehme said in the Instagram video.
Qatar Claims She Was Rude
Unfortunately, Nehme told her followers she missed her flight to São Paulo because of the dispute between her and Qatar Airways.
“Qatar Airways treats all passengers with respect and dignity and in line with industry practices and similar to most airlines, anyone who impedes upon the space of a fellow traveler and cannot secure their seatbelt or lower their armrests may be required to purchase an additional seat both as a safety precaution and for the comfort and safety of all passengers.”
