A TikToker named Mita channeled her “inner Bessie Coleman” when she embarked on a unique flying experience in a two-passenger plane above Paris.

Mita, the self-proclaimed Voyage Babe, shared her one-of-a-kind pilot time in a TikTok video on June 11. The video contained clips of her both in an airplane hangar and flying an aircraft high in the skies.

She showed the several types of planes in the hangar, “some of them made in the ’40s.” Before heading into the air, she captured someone in the hangar teaching her how to fly using a toy plane.

“I had to channel my inner Bessie Coleman, as she was the first Black woman to get her flying license. Of course, it was difficult in the U.S. so she went to France to get it,” Mita shared.

“I was excited to fly but the fact that the plane is the size of a Mike And Ike just really stressed me out. And you can feel everything,” she admitted while the TikTok showed footage of her in the air. “It was all smooth sailing and then, I don’t know, the plane was just shaking a bit too much for my liking. So I asked him [my instructor] to take over… When I tell you my hands were sweaty — this was such an amazing experience.”

As seen in the video, Mita was accompanied in the air by a male instructor. As she flew the small plane, he said, “Just in front of us, you can see the Eiffel Tower.” Elsewhere, he called the TikToker “a good pilot.”

How Did Mita Pull Off Her Parisian Flight?

In a separate video, Mita shared that she booked her unique flight via Airbnb Experiences. The three-hour event is hosted by Jean Sébastien, a former television producer and director with 1200 flying hours as a flight instructor. Notably, he’s also the founder of Easy2Fly, the flight school through which Mita hit the skies.

The experience is just under $175 per person and Mita noted that she was in the air for around an hour.

“This experience was amazing,” she gushed. “I don’t know how many other people offer this opportunity in Paris, but the people who are in charge [of Easy2Fly] were amazing.”

What The “Anti-Basic Travel” TikTok Series Is All About

In her initial Parisian piloting video, Mita explained that “anti-basic travel overall just ensures that I’m not living the same day, every day.”

In her caption, she added more context about the burgeoning TikTok travel series. She said, “I’ve scuba dived in Isla Mujeres [and] stayed in floating tiki homes, boats, storage containers, treehouses, and more. [I’ve] partied with strangers, solo traveled to dozens of countries, fell in love, and more! [It] will all be a part of my ATB, or anti-basic travel [series]!

The TikToker noted that her page will be updated every Tuesday with an addition to her anti-basic travel series. For even more information on her travels, she encouraged online users to watch out for her forthcoming YouTube channel.
