Black Americans love to travel, and based on new research, we spend more than $100 billion a year on travel alone.
MMGY Global’s research shows, Black leisure travelers, who represent a little over 13 percent of the U.S. leisure travel, generated over 450 million leisure stays in 2019.
According to Davonne Reaves, Hospitality Strategist at The Vonne Group, less than two percent of hotels across the country are currently owned by Black people. And if the COVID-19 pandemic taught us anything, it’s that Black businesses need and deserve our travel dollars.
