Tech has practically taken over our lives. From social media to smart televisions, it feels like we’re always connected to the World Wide Web or staring at a screen. Reviews.org, a company that tests home services and products, wants to give some lucky individuals a chance to get away and earn some cash in the process.
The company is staging a 24-hour digital detox and paying $2,400 for someone to go 24 hours without technology. According to Reviews.org, that means no cell phones, televisions, gaming consoles, handheld gaming devices, computers, laptops, smartwatches, or wearable tech or smart home devices (smart speakers, smart vacuums, etc.). But at least you won’t starve. The winner is allowed to use a microwave.
And to help you make it through the 24 hours as comfortably as possible, the company is also throwing in an extra $200 towards creating a tech less survival kit with items of your choosing.
Applications are being accepted from now until 5:00 pm MST on March 26, 2021. Winners will be announced on March 29 via Reviews.org’s Youtube channel.
