With these gas prices, you may be wondering if finding cheap destinations is possible this April. The good news is, we’re not going to let these gas prices stop us from finding happiness through traveling this spring.

There’s still time to plan a trip cheap vacation. We know this because we’ve done the legwork for you.

Here’s a list of cheap destinations to travel to for less than $400 round-trip this April.

1. Guatemala City, Guatemala For As Low As $102 Round-Trip

This flight deal comes just in time as we recently reported that Guatemala is growing in popularity among Black travelers. There are many reasons, including the fact that there’s so much to do and see. But the main reason is the Central American country is a place where Black travelers feel safe.

Y’all! This might be the best deal we’ve seen in a while.

Houston, Fort Lauderdale, Atlanta, Orlando, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New York City, and Boston are all cities that you can travel from to get to Guatemala for less than $200 round-trip, according to Skyscanner.

The cheapest flight leaves from Miami on April 4 through April 11 for just $102 round-trip on Frontier Airlines.

2. St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands For As Low As $115 Round-Trip

Do you want to experience the beach life in the Caribbean, but not interested in traveling too far? The U.S. Virgin Islands is the perfect destination this April.

It’s hard to choose between St. Thomas and St. Croix, as both destinations will give you lots of sunshine, beautiful blue water, and adventure, but St. Thomas takes the lead when it comes to affordability. Kayak data shows St. Thomas has better average hotel prices.

According to Skyscanner, East Coast cities, including Boston, New York, Miami, and Washington, D.C. have the best flight deals.  All the listed cities can get you to St. Thomas for less than $200 round-trip.

Atlanta has the best option thanks to Frontier, where a round-trip ticket can be purchased for as low as $116.  There is a long layover in Orlando with this flight option.

3. Philipsburg, Sint Maarten For As Low As $155 Round-Trip

Here’s a deal you don’t see every day: Philipsburg, Sint Maarten for the low. We’re talking a ton of cities for less than $250 listed on  Skyscanner. 

Philipsburg is the capital of the Dutch side of the island where it’s easy to fall in love with the beauty and island’s simplicity.

Everything you need, including the beach, shopping, and exploring the local culture is all available at your fingertips, and you don’t have to travel far.

Great Bay Beach is great for relaxing while Little Bay Beach is perfect for snorkeling. If you’re traveling solo, the boardwalk is where you can meet people if you’re feeling social because it’s full of a ton of bars, restaurants, and stores.

There’s so much to love about Lisbon. For starters, the coastal European city boasts an estimated 290 days of sunshine a year – inarguably making it one of the happiest places in Europe.

It’s a vibrant city, fueled by the city’s diversity in cultures – especially as it relates to the diaspora.

Lisbon is a popular city but April is a great time to go as it’s right before the busy summer travel season picks up.  You’ll avoid large crowds and the sweltering summer season.
