With the Black travel movement gaining momentum, and Black travelers contributing billions to the travel industry, it is important that we have travel resources that appeal to us.
Oakland resident and diversity in travel consultant Martinique Lewis will soon release her highly anticipated ABC Travel Greenbook, to serve as a resource for Black travelers across the globe.
The book, now available for preorder and slated for an August 23 release, will allow us to connect with Black communities and Black businesses in cities on 6 of the 7 continents.
“I want Black travelers everywhere to embrace our culture when possible, and teach everyone else in the world about it too,” Martinique Lewis told Travel Noire. “I want business owners to know that we got their back regardless of this pandemic.”
The book was inspired by Victor Hugo Green’s Negro Motorist Greenbook and Lewis hopes her rendition will serve as a modern day version that will celebrate Black culture throughout the world.
