With expenses like tuition and college textbooks, it’s no wonder many university students experience financial struggles. Luckily, many companies offer student discounts to lighten the burden.

Here are six airlines offering students reduced prices to help make travel more affordable.

Emirates

One of the world’s leading airlines, Emirates is currently offering discounted economy and business class airfares. Students who book a flight by June 30 using the promo code STUDENT will receive up to 10% off of their ticket price.

The reduced fare includes one free date change that can be made up until a week of your departure date. It also comes with an added 10 kg to your baggage allowance or an extra piece of luggage. A valid student ID or school acceptance letter are required to check in.

Lufthansa

The largest German airline, Lufthansa has its own program catering to college students. GenerationFly provides discounts to students traveling from the U.S., Thailand, India, China or Hong Kong to over 200 destinations in 81 countries. All you need to receive discounted airfare is a student email address.

Singapore Airlines

Reigning as the top international airline in the world for the past 25 years, Singapore Airlines offers selected fare types for KrisFlyer members with a verified student status. Student privileges include 40 kg of checked baggage and the ability to change your travel plans once without having to pay an additional fee.

Pakistan International Airlines

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) offers university students a discount of 10% off their fares. A further discount of 15% is available for a group booking of at least ten students. Students must visit a PIA counter to receive these discounts, where they will be required to present a valid school ID card or, in the case of recent admissions, an acceptance letter.

Cathay Pacific

Cathay Pacific is offering exclusive discounted fares for students traveling to Europe, the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, or mainland China. Trips to these destinations must be booked by December 31 (or October 31 for Australia and New Zealand.)

For some destinations, student fares include an additional checked baggage allowance. Students must present a valid International Student Identity Card (ISIC), student number, student visa, or letter of acceptance to receive a discount.

Turkish Airlines

Students enrolled in Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles program can receive 20% off domestic flights and up to 10% off international flights. Additional perks include a free 40 kg baggage allowance on certain flights and one free change on international flights.

Miles accrued by the end of this year will earn an additional bonus of 25% more miles and a 1,000-mile new membership reward. To reap the benefits, students must define their Miles&Smiles account as a student account and provide the requested information.
