Washington, D.C. native, Cierra Lynn, has been painting and creating since she was in elementary school. She is known for her unique style, colorful brush strokes, and daring artwork that boosts self confidence.
Cierra has had the opportunity to paint custom creations for many of our favorite celebs. While this is major in itself, what sets this artist apart from others is that she is now using her talents to address one of the Black community’s biggest issues.
We spoke with Cierra via email to learn more about her work and how she is using it to fight against mental health.

TN: How did you get involved with painting self love murals in public schools around the D.C. area?
Cierra: In addition to being an entrepreneur, I am also an art consultant and art teacher for community programs. After noticing a huge increase in children committing suicide, various mental health issues and low self-esteem, I was inspired to create a way that art could have a huge impact. I chose bathroom stalls as my canvas. The bathroom stall murals infuse affirmations, imagery and bold colors that empower the kids and reaffirm their greatness.
TN: Tell us about your involvement with Taraji P. Henson’s mental health project.
Cierra: Taraji P. Henson created The Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation, a mental health foundation in honor of her father to help eradicate the stigma associated with mental health. Taraji and the BLHF team were impressed with the bathroom stall murals I do in the schools and selected me to partner with their foundation to provide murals and bathroom makeovers in various cities around the world.
TN: What are you up to these days?
Cierra: Currently having so much fun with my newest collection Bloom Soar Speak, a Mental Health inspired Collection. This collection is all about spreading awareness, promoting healing through trauma, and embracing your truth.
TN: What’s next for Cierra Lynn?
Cierra: I will focus on expanding my brand throughout the US and internationally. Cierra Lynn Collection will soon offer aromatherapy products and more therapeutic art experiences, in addition to the wearable items and artwork.
