Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty will make an appearance at Afrochella. The Fenty Beauty team is introducing Fenty Glow and the Go Beauty Bar at the two-day music and art celebration at El Wak Stadium in Accra.
During the festival, which celebrates Black music, culture, art, and more, fest-goers will have the chance to explore new products, win fun giveaways, and have their makeup retouched throughout the event.
“We’re thrilled to invite Fenty Beauty, a brand that celebrates inclusivity and culture, exudes confidence, and champions the upliftment of all people,” Abdul Karim Abdullah, CEO & Co-Founder of Afrochella, said in a press release. “We’re excited to see festival goers tap into their creative side and celebrate their personal beauty and uniqueness. This Beauty Bar is just another incredible way to further connect people from around the world through art and self-expression.”
Fenty Spreads To Africa
Fenty Beauty launched across 17 countries in 2017. Rihanna’s mission with the brand is to recognize and celebrate beauty in all forms, regardless of race, ethnicity, or culture. Since Fenty Beauty’s launch, you can find makeup and beauty products across Africa including in Ghana, Botswana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
“I am a proud Bajan who feels a close connection to Africa and its people,” Rihanna says. “I’ve had the pleasure [and] the privilege to spend time on the continent, and those experiences never leave you.”
She adds, “Being able to bring Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin to 8 African countries – and hopefully more in the future – means so much to me.”
Afrochella Gets Bigger and Better
Afrochella is a musical and cultural event that keeps getting bigger and better every year.
In 2022, the team created a two-week experience that kicked off on Dec. 18 and runs through Dec. 31.
Signature events include “Fashion Night Out,” an evening to celebrate African fashion, and the “Afrochella Music Museum,” a museum-like experience that takes people on a musical journey from the past into the future with live performances and art installations.
New in 2022 is “Afrocanteen,” a one-of-a-kind exclusive food experience located right on the festival grounds where 35 food vendors from all over the continent and at least 15 other fashion, beauty, and art merchants will be situated, including Fenty Beauty.
