The news is officially out. Jennifer Lopez is due to become Virgin Voyages’ Investor and Chief Entertainment & Lifestyle Officer. The announcement comes as Virgin Voyages sets out to completely reshape the ceremonial role of Godmother and reimagine it with a modernized, fresh approach.
Jennifer Lopez has been considered as the perfect fit for the ‘reinvention of the godmother role’, and just in time as travel starts to pick back up. Virgin Voyages, the award-winning cruise line founded by Richard Branson, told Travel Noire in a press release that “The Virgin experience is redefining the nautical tradition of appointing a godmother from a ceremonial role to a truly modern, change-making partnership with undoubtedly one of the most powerful artists in the world.”
Virgin Voyages’ very first ship, Scarlet Lady, was built to reflect sleek luxury, emitting that hard to replicate on-sea intimacy paired with world-class entertainment. As a new lifestyle travel brand dedicated to offering irresistible cruise vacations, Virgin Voyages’ has big plans for the future.
