The Castillo San Felipe de Barajas is a fortification located on a hill called San Lázaro.

In 1984, UNESCO included the Historic Center of the city of Cartagena, all of its fortifications, and the San Felipe de Barajas castle on the list of World Heritage Sites. It is considered one of the seven wonders of Colombia.

Among the most iconic fortifications of “La Heroíca”, the Walls of Cartagena are the most recognized. It was a project that lasted nearly two centuries and ended in 1796. It was built to defend the city from attacks.
