Some say Las Vegas is to adults what Orlando is to children; a playground filled to the brim with restaurants, casinos and quite a few Black-owned businesses. It’s a popular site for a bachelorette party, a birthday, and just about any kind of grown and sexy gathering. Las Vegas certainly isn’t all that Nevada has to offer. But there’s a reason why The Strip, which surges with energy day and night, draws millions of tourists year after year.

The Strip takes on a different personality at night, with glittering lights that are best viewed aerially. When it comes to luxurious accommodations, Caesars Palace, Bellagio and MGM Grand fit that bill for sure. In addition to suites, they offer enough eateries, entertainment and shopping to make your head spin. For the thrill-seekers, The Strip has an array of rides from the Big Apple Coaster to Insanity (which will really make your head spin).

Here are some Black-owned businesses you can support in the Sin City of Las Vegas, on and off The Strip.

1. Day 1- Morning

Why not enjoy a popular breakfast item with a twist courtesy of Cereal Killerz? This is your chance to indulge in all the cereals of your childhood, with none of the limitations.

Cereal Killerz was founded by Jessica and Chris Burns, and there are locations in Nevada and Arizona. You’ll find one within the Miracle Mile Shopping center on The Strip.

After choosing your cereal, you can add as many trimmings as you’d like. There’s also the option of adding cereal to ice cream, milkshakes, waffles and ice coffees.

2. Day 1- Afternoon

You have more options for lunch than can be listed.

Gritz Café describes itself as “small but mighty,” and they bring a taste of the south to the west.

Soul Foo Young is the marriage of Chinese- American food and soul food. Check out the the Bruce Leroy, with fried rice and chicken wings. For something sweet, try the tasty peach cobbler egg rolls.

When you’re sated, head over to Queendom Cultivation for retail therapy and healing crystals. There’s also sound healing, readings and crystal light therapy services available.

3. Day 1- Evening

Head to Classic Jewel, a cocktail lounge in downtown Las Vegas. It’s located in a luxury high rise.

The dress code is strictly upscale, and there are numerous events offered all week from comedy shows to hip-hop bingo. On Sundays, check out the Trap Brunch with cocktails, hookah and delicious food.

4. Day 2- Morning

Head to Legends Barber Studio, where you can get the full  pampering experience. It’s owned by Saleemah Abare, who has often talked about her experience as a woman in an industry dominated by men.

A.C.E on West Flamingo Road is a fitness facility offering bootcamp and meal prep services. Their dynamic classes are sure to keep you hooked and inspire a good sweat.

5. Day 2- Afternoon

Try a gourmet hotdog courtesy of Buldogis Hotdogs, which is co-owned by Chef Boyzie Milner. It’s on S. Fort Apache Road and is available for dine-in and takeout.

Stock up on some essentials for your furry friend at Dog and Whistle.

Founder Eric J. Adams decided to “partner with food service businesses to prevent waste while giving dogs a whole culinary experience.”

Jammyland offers craft cocktails and jerk- a great combination. Get lit off a Bangarang, Garden Party or Stirred Jungle Bird cocktail and take advantage of the kitchen, which stays open late always.

6. Day 2- Evening

Wrap up your last evening in Las Vegas by smoking a hookah with some friends (or alone) at Vibez Hookah Lounge.

Another option for a night out is The Urban Lounge, an upscale spot just 10-15 minutes from The Strip.

Try the urban egg rolls as a starter and for a main course, the decadent stuffed jalapeno cream cheese burger.

Urban Lounge is also a great spot to watch sports, enjoy game nights and dance to sets by live DJs.
