The popular New York-based Caribbean food chain Golden Krust has just launched the vegan alternatives to their infamous Jamaican-style beef patties. 

You can find the vegan patties at locations in Boston, Hartford (Ohio), NYC and Toronto. The Beyond Meat patties are made with Beyond Beef and are available in either Spicy or Mild.

The patties were made using the 30-year-old family recipe by Golden Krust. The food chain has plans to get the vegan patties into all of its 125 restaurants across North America as well as into 25,000 retail stores. 

Alfred R. Novas, the CEO, Chairman, and President of Golden Krust says, “Beyond Beef was the perfect choice for our new patties since it is designed to look, cook, and taste like ground beef, with all the benefits of plant-based protein.”

Novas goes on to say, “We are excited to commence this test of Spicy and Mild plant-based patties at our company restaurants today and to make the products available to our entire franchise system in the first part of 2020. We challenge you to tell the difference between our traditional beef patties and our new plant-based protein patties.”
