Galentine's Day: 5 Destinations For Black Women Under $400 Round-Trip
February is truly the month of love, which includes relationships with your girls. Celebrated on February 13, the world was introduced to Galentine’s Day on the second season of Parks and Recreation. The fictional deputy director of the show, Leslie Knope, showed us her favorite February tradition involving brunch and gifts celebrating friendships with women.
We’re here for a day to celebrate the women – especially Black women – who love us during those highs and lows.
Are you and the girls planning a Galentine’s Day slay-cation away from home? Here are five destinations perfect for Black women under $400 round-trip.
Atlanta, Georgia, For Under $100 Round-Trip
Atlanta is a top city for Black people despite the “everyone always wants to move to the A” hate the city constantly gets. But here’s the thing: Atlanta is popular among Black people for a reason, especially for Black women.
For starters, Atlanta has a variety of options for us! There’s always something new popping up on the scene. There’s something for everyone to do, from Black-owned spas, Black-owned restaurants, and unique experiences, such as the Black-owned ranch where you can meditate while horseback riding.
And when you consider the fact that Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is a major airport hub, it means it’s a city that offers easy access for a getaway.
For Galentine’s Day, you can fly to Atlanta for less than $150 round-trip if you’re traveling from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Dallas, New York City, Chicago, or Washington D.C.
The cheapest flights are from Florida, according to Skyscanner. Click here on this link to find your city.
Tampa, Florida, For Under $100 Round-Trip
Speaking of Florida, if you and the girls want a beach stay away from Miami, then add Tampa to the list. Don’t get us wrong, Miami is a vibe, but it’s often overcrowded and overpriced. Thankfully, Tampa is here to save the day.
Tampa is a beautiful city with a more laid-back feel. If the goal is to spend quality time with your girls since work, relationships, and everything else often gets in the way, Tampa offers plenty of activities where you can be intentional about how you all spend your time.
Once you book your Galentine’s Day trip, Travel Noire has a guide on how to spend a day in Black-owned Tampa here. Regarding where to stay, we highly recommend the city’s South Howard – or SOHO – district. SOHO is trendy and in the city’s heart, where you will probably spend a lot of time shopping, eating well, and partying. Ready to book your trip?
Flights from Nashville, St. Louis, Washington, D.C., and Houston, are currently priced under $100 round-trip. New Orleans and Richmond, Virginia, have the best deals. Find your flight to Tampa, Florida, by clicking here.
St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands For Under $275 Round-Trip
If you need a girls’ trip a little further away, St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands the destination for your girls’ trip. This is a Travel Noire favorite because a passport is not needed for the island vibe. As we continue to get back into the swing of things, it’s an excellent option for those friends who forgot to renew their passports. No FOMO here with the U.S. Virgin Islands!
A trip to the U.S. Virgin Islands is optimal for rest and recreation. If your friends agree on this destination, chances are they want to come back with kisses from the sun and an experience to talk about. No matter your group’s age or activity level, Virgin Island Eco Tours offers an ideal three-hour adventure kayaking through the town’s protected mangroves. If the group feels a little more adventurous, you can also snorkel to witness conch shells and barracudas up close.
According to Skyscanner, the prices of trips from Charlotte, North Carolina, Philadelphia, Nashville, Washington, D.C., and Atlanta are all priced below $275 round-trip.
Leaving from Florida cities, such as Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, and Orlando, will get you there the cheapest. When we say affordable, we mean less than $250 round-trip. Fort Lauderdale is the cheapest, with a direct flight with Spirit Airlines.
Providenciales, Turks and Caicos For Under $380 Round-Trip
If you and the friend group feel really fancy (and everyone has their passport situation in order), pack your bags for Turks and Caicos. Anytime between December and March is considered the high season, but February is a soft spot as it comes right after the busy holiday season. It’s also that in-between time before spring break and when people start panicking to head there before hurricane season.
We can’t promise any crowds, but we’ve seen slower Februarys.
So, why Turks and Caicos for Galentine’s Day? In the spirit of friendship, Turks and Caicos is a bucket list destination solely for its beauty. What could be better than celebrating and reflecting on friendships in one of the most beautiful places in the world? If you ask us, it’s the kind of destination that feels like a honeymoon, except with friends.
According to Skyscanner, those of you traveling from New York City, Boston, or Miami, can get to Providenciales for less than $400. New York City travelers have the best option with tickets priced at $282 round-trip! Click this link here to purchase this flight deal.
Oranjestad, Aruba For Under $400 Round-Trip

Outside of its sunny weather, Aruba is known worldwide for its pristine beaches, water fun, and wellness. If you and your friends are making this Galentine’s Day trip to intentionally rest, consider a visit to Indulgence by the Sea Spa. The spa has services that will make you all feel good from head to toe.
And while you’re in Aruba, we highly recommend renting a car to explore the island and take in the stunning views for selfies! Read more on our Aruba activity guide here.
