Singer Sarah La Morena, is a Black American woman who is dominating the regional Mexican music scene. She was adopted by a Mexican family as a newborn, and spent most of her life growing up on their ranch in Zacatecas, Mexico.
According to Sarah’s website, her family loved her like their own, but were very transparent about her adoption.
Sarah’s family eventually moved back to the United States, but by this point she spoke very little English, since Spanish was the language she was raised around.
She would eventually learn English, but she always enjoyed singing traditional Mexican music. She joined a group during her Senior year of high school, that she still performs with today.
Once the social media wave picked up, Sarah began posting her singing videos to her pages. Her videos were shared by some popular bands, which helped her build a large following.
Now, the mom of 2 has officially signed with family-oriented label, Joyas Music. She performs all over, and currently has a few released albums and EPs.
