Travel Noire: What is your favorite country so far and why?

Chanel: My favorite country so far has been Bali hands down for me it was a place that truly brought peace to my heart.

The most memorable experience for me would be The Bali Waterfall. I never felt more in tune with nature.

The experience at the Lempuyang Temple, also known as the Gates of Heaven, is one I hold dear to my heart.  We went during the anniversary of my Dad’s passing, so it touched me among “The Gates of Heaven” on that particular day, which was not planned, but it truly gave me so much peace.

Reggie: Bali hands down. I’ve traveled to several countries in Asia and while I had a great experience at each, nothing compares to Bali. The food, people, and culture make you feel at ease from the moment you arrive. Not to mention the $5 deep tissue massages. You need those daily. The private villas overlooking the rice fields are a must while staying in Ubud. They have a certain calming aura to them and you forget about everything.

TN: What’s the best part about traveling together?

Reggie: Having the opportunity to become closer and share moments that last a lifetime. From going inside the ancient pyramids in Egypt, locked in cages with Tigers in Thailand, to views of some of the most beautiful beaches in the world in Bali; these are all experiences people dream of having. I’ve been to many countries solo which is great, but traveling with the person you love is even more special.

Chanel: Traveling gives us something to look forward to and sharing those moments with him means the world to me. He’s my best friend.  Oh, I can’t forget having someone to take your picture lol!

TN: What advice would you give traveling couples?

Chanel: I would say to appreciate your time with each other. Never take your experience for granted,  make memories,  take as many pictures as you want.  Don’t feel like you have to follow a set plan or itinerary because sometimes things don’t go as planned.  Go with the flow and always remain positive. R

Reggie: Be spontaneous, don’t stick to a schedule, make an honest effort to learn the culture, and put your phone down. While taking pics and capturing the moment is important, I think as a society we have become conditioned to capture that “Instagram moment” without truly living in the moment. My final piece of advice is if you’re taking an extended trip (more than 10 days) book a layover in another country. This allows you to explore prior to getting to your destination.
