Surrounded by white sand beaches, mangrove reserve, pristine private island and Belizean jungle, Six Senses Belize captures luxury island-life by offering a remote and tranquil stay in the small Central American country. The secluded bliss of the resort comes with a stretch of secret beach and a five-minute boat ride away from a private island.

Six Senses, a hotel brand prioritizing wellness, luxury and sustainability in the hotel industry, imagined the Belize branch to be a ‘pint-sized paradise’ that is deeply aware and inspired by Belizean natural landscapes.

On the website it describes aspects of the residence, sharing that “The Longhouse on Secret Beach will be a hub for food and drink including a boutique, café, deli, wine shop, multi-level restaurant, lounge, and bar. The spa is designed in a beautiful village style around sand, sea, mangroves, and natural lagoons to heighten the senses.”

The desert-island abode spans across 28-acres of two Belize islands, offering a place to connect with the surrounding nature in one of the most sought-after locations in the country. With an intended opening date of mid-2025, the overwater villas in the secluded island community will soon be available to book.

In a press release, Chief Executive Officer of Six Senses, Neil Jacobs explained that “We’ve drawn inspiration from local craft and Belizean life, capturing the spirit and history of Mayan architecture and local heritage. Everything has been done to embody a new generation of travelers, eager to make memories, while preserving the island for future generations.”

True to Belizean style, the residences are raised on stilts over turquoise waters to fully enjoy the tropical scene. The authentic architecture, drawing inspiration from the rich culture of the region, allows for a residence that is authentic, vibrant and a world of its own. The site is also set within a UNESCO World Heritage location with 24 residences ranging from 2-7 bedrooms on Secret Beach and 45 resort villas and nine residences ranging from 3-5 bedrooms on the island.

Expect the Secret Beach to function as the main activity’s hub, which will be up the coast from lively San Pedro on Ambergris Caye. It will also be the main location for water sports with a dive center, Marine Discovery and a wide range of other adrenaline pumping activities. There are plans for organic gardens complemented by a labyrinth, mushroom hut, cooking school, food market and teens’ club. The resort will also offer another outdoor pool, ice cream parlor, overwater restaurant and Cinema Paradiso to offer nightlife for visitors.

On the island, there will be resort villas and a handful of residences for purchase, across from the Secret Beach. During the boat-ride to the island, guests pass a large sandbar with turquoise waters, which will be the space for private picnics and gatherings. This will also be the location for the inner wetlands and mangrove forests, which are said to be sustainably protected as a natural preservation area for the existing flora and fauna.

The south of the island also boasts unspoiled horizon views and an overwater sunset bar, an All-Day Dining Village, BBQ Hut, communal outdoor pool and a children’s club.

The Six Senses Spa and Wellness Village is built around the natural lagoons to the north of the preservation area and will offer ‘inward-looking, healing experiences among the existing mangroves at the edge of the wetlands’. Initially the Spa and Wellness Village will offer an Alchemy Bar, Holistic Anti-Aging Center, fitness center, indoor and outdoor treatment areas, Temazcal lodge and outdoor yoga pavilion alongside wellness programs that will focus on natural healing.
