This month has been very exciting for luxury lovers in NYC as Aman New York officially opens its doors. The highly exclusive hotel is a new incarnation of the 100-year-old Crown Building at 57th and Fifth, and is seriously expensive.

The hotel was due to open in 2020 but then of course the pandemic happened. Now 2 years later, the highly anticipated opening has turned many heads in the big city. The 83-suite-hotel is an ultra-luxury addition to NYC. If you want to check it out the best chance of getting in is a $200,000 club initiation fee.

During the pre-opening period, there was a $100,000 initiation fee to become founding members of its world-first Aman Club. True to its exclusivity, the sign-up cost has since doubled – and that’s not even to speak of the $15,000 for annual dues. Rates for base rooms start at $3,200 to $4,600 per night. Additionally, the 340-square-foot studios can solely be booked as an adjoining option for $20,000-per-night corner suites.

Aman hotels have a reputation in luxury hospitality that is hard to ignore. Booking an Aman reservation in any corner of the world is a costly though truly luxurious affair. The New York hotel has not come to disappoint, in fact the very opposite. The opening which took place on August 2 2022 added to NYC’s already famous rep for the high life.

What to expect from the Aman New York

Each room will feature a fireplace and the interior design nods to the chain’s Asian roots. Rooms at the hotel will be a minimum of  775 square feet which is impressive by NYC standards. Guests can also expect an Italian restaurant (Arva), a Japanese restaurant (Nama), a wine library, a jazz club, a garden terrace as well as a 25,000 -square -foot spa.

Aman New York will feature 22 private residences and some feature outdoor terraces and private pools.

Bloomberg reported that premier suites, measure 815 square feet and are among the only reservations that can currently be booked through the end of the year.  Currently, Aman New York says officially that prices for these rooms will start at $3,200 per night. They’re currently available for $4,200 per night for most weeknights and up to $5,500 per night on weekends until the end of 2022.

In an interview with Aman’s chairman and chief executive officer, Vlad Doronin, Bloomberg revealed that the total cost for bringing the Aman New York to life is around  $1.45 billion.

“Not only will our clients be willing to pay luxury money for what we’ve built, but they’re also going to feel very happy with the value they’ve received by the time they check out.” said Doronin
