If this sounds like something you’d love, then you should grab your crew and check out a wine train near you. There are several routes across America.
We’ve compiled a list of our favorite five routes.
Located in Bryson City, North Carolina, this route takes passengers along the Great Smoky Mountains. It is a full-day, all-inclusive, adult-only experience. Guests are treated to cheese samplings, a surf and turf meal prepared fresh, dessert, and four samples of selected wines. The cost of the experience is $120 per person.
This two-hour train ride ventures through Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Northeast Ohio. During the experience, passengers will enjoy six wine selections and light appetizers. Pricing starts at $80 per person. The next experience is scheduled for October 27.
Departing from Union Station in Utica, New York, this experience also provides live music. The cost of a first class ticket is $45, but this doesn’t include wine or beer. First-class guests are treated to gourmet hors-d’oeuvres and table service during this almost three-hour experience. Beer and wine must be purchased separately.
This is probably the most popular wine train experience in America. There are several experiences to choose from, including a lunch or dinner train, each lasting around 3 hours. The wine train package includes train fare, a multiple course gourmet meal, a welcome taste of a Napa Valley private label wine, and a tour and tasting at specified wineries. Packages start at $149 per person.
A new twist on the famous Napa Valley Wine Train, this option features local craft beers. The cost starts at $75 per person. Passengers can expect a 2-hour rail tour of Napa Valley, bar bites, and 2 pints of Palisades local craft beer.
