Smith Commons (D.C.)

Owned by a Howard University graduate and currently ran by the former vice president for Morton’s Steakhouse, this bar is located at 1245 H St. NE. in Washington’s Atlas Arts District along the H St. Corridor. Be sure to try one of the Moderns 12, as these drinks are handcrafted to order.

 

Brass Tap (D.C.)

Located in the National Harbor, this craft beer bar is perfect for the avid beer explorer.

 

The Pitch (D.C.)

Established in 2015, this upscale sports bar and restaurant appeals to a diverse crowd. You can find it in the Petworth community.

The Caged Bird (D.C.)

Featuring a Happy Hour Tuesday thru Friday from 5pm-8pm, this bar also hosts a late night experience every Friday and Saturday until 4am.

Located at 3514 12th St. NE, this bar is said to be a fun, progressive space, offering approachable cuisine, craft beer & spirits in the Brookland area.

Island Taste Lounge (NYC)

This Caribbean inspired lounge features drinks with names like “All Night Long” and “F*C’D Up.” Located at 243-10 Merrick Boulevard in Queens.

Harlem Hops (NYC)

This is Harlem’s only 100 percent black-owned craft beer bar. The owners pride themselves in working with the best local breweries to offer a bespoke collection of niche, interesting, and innovative beers.

 

The Pink Tea Cup (NYC)

One of several ventures by Chef Lawrence Page, this Brooklyn restaurant and bar is sure to please.

 

Red Rooster (NYC)

While this spot is more famous for its food, it is also home to a downstairs bar and lounge that features live music to accompany your favorite drinks.

Daryl’s Corner Bar and Kitchen (Boston)

A laid-back old-fashioned spot that features live jazz. Located at 604 Columbus Avenue in Boston.

 

Drink Haus Supper Club (Chicago)

An innovative supper club located in the heart of the West Loop. Drink Haus brings a highly social atmosphere that pairs hand crafted cocktails with unique Creole dishes.

Lounge 114 (Mississippi)

This lounge has been bringing nightlife to Jackson, Mississippi since 2017. Guests can experience live music, dancing, and drinks all under one roof.

Said to be a quintessential dive where “professionals get unprofessional.” You can find this bar in Houston’s 3rd Ward.

 

Negril Village (Atlanta)

An elegant Caribbean eatery located inside an old firehouse, which offers a full bar and Sunday brunch.

Loft and Cellar (Charlotte)

Located in the heart of uptown Charlotte, this venue features a 4-sided view of the city. The loft features a 25-foot full service bar and plush seating.

 

Three Spirits Brewery (Charlotte)

Owned by a former emergency medicine physician turned brewer. The name of this bar comes from the owner’s love of Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol.’

Stats (Charlotte)

This newcomer to the scene is quickly gaining popularity within Charlotte. It also features an in-house soul band.

 

Oeste Bar and Cafe (Oakland)

This bar features a 90-foot bar, rooftop bar, and cafe all under one roof. Located in the heart of Old Oakland.

The Hatch (Oakland)

This Oakland bar and restaurant features a happy hour that lasts from 11am to 7pm.

 

Era Art Bar and Lounge (Oakland)

The 5,000 square-foot space offers two comfortable lounges, each offering aesthetics of a different age. Overall, Era combines diverse music, curated collections of contemporary art with boutique cocktails.

District (Oakland)

Deemed a premiere wine and whisky bar, District offers an ecelctic vibe with various selections of wine, whisky, and small plates.

 

The Payback Bar (Oakland)

The bar will soon expand to a two-story venue that will feature a variety of games to add to its full spirit and cocktail list, selection of beers, and bar bites.
