As another busy summer of travel approaches, Uber announced in late April the release of its seventh annual Lost & Found Index. The index shows what passengers tend to leave behind and what’s truly unique. Riders left behind common belongings like clothing, phones, laptops, backpacks, keys, and wallets, but they also left behind more unique, and sometimes bizarre, items.
The index also revealed that Saturday and Sunday mornings are the most common times for passengers to forget their belongings.
2023 Uber Lost & Found Trends
This year, Uber reported a significant spike in lost Disney and Harry Potter items. Ganja goods, gaming devices, false dentures and teeth, cold shoulders, underwear, condoms, and sex toys were also left behind by Uber riders. The 5th of April was the most common day for forgotten items, with nearly 1,000 lost item reports.
Shawls were one of the top clothing items left behind. Riders around the world left other interesting items such as bed sheets, Apple pens, gift boxes, car keys, chicken, Nike sneakers, a computer mouse, rice, diamond earrings, vapes, an orange bag with a unicorn kangaroo, and a scooter. A Danny DeVito Christmas ornament, a fog machine, and six cheesecakes are just a few of the weirdest items that Uber users forgot this year.
