Orkin, the popular pest control company, recently released it’s Top 50 Rattiest Cities list and the findings may surprise you. For those thinking NYC is the rattiest city, guess again!
For the 6th consecutive time, Chi-Town takes the top spot for having the most rodents. A new addition to the list’s top 10 is Baltimore and San Diego has risen to ranking in the top 20.
Many cities have seen an increase in rodents’ visibility due to the pandemic and closed restaurants forcing rodents to find new sources of food. As a result, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Rodent Control Guide to help owners keep rodents out of their properties.
So how exactly does Orkin rank these cities? According to the site, “Orkin ranked metro regions by the number of new rodent treatments performed from September 1, 2019 to August 31st, 2020.” The rankings include treatments done to both commercial and residential properties.
