In a historic moment on June 29, JetBlue’s maiden flight to Paris departed from New York’s JFK Airport, making its way to Charles-de-Gaulle Airport in just six and a half hours. The much-anticipated launch of this Transatlantic service was made possible by an Airbus A321LRneo aircraft. Interestingly, this aircraft had already made its mark in France the previous week, as it was showcased in the static display at the Paris Air Show.
The A321LRneo aircraft offers a two-class cabin configuration comprising 24 luxurious Mint suites and 114 comfortable economy class seats. With this new route to France, JetBlue expands its international growth program, building upon existing services to the United Kingdom. The airline currently serves two major London airports, Heathrow and Gatwick, with flights originating from JFK Airport and Boston-Logan.
JetBlue Plans Further Expansions In Europe
JetBlue also has its sights set on Amsterdam Schiphol as its next European destination, with flights expected to commence on August 29. This marks the airline’s fourth European venture, signaling its commitment to expanding its reach across the continent.
Looking ahead, JetBlue CEO Robin Hayes has confirmed plans to launch an additional service to Paris CDG from Boston sometime in 2024, further solidifying the airline’s dedication to transatlantic travel.
While JetBlue may be a newcomer to mainland France, it is not a stranger to French territory. The airline already operates flights to Pointe-à-Pitre, located in the French overseas département of Guadeloupe. Despite being situated in the Caribbean, this island holds a special status as an integral part of France.
JetBlue’s entry into the Paris market ushers in a new era of connectivity and convenience for travelers. The new service offers more options for transatlantic journeys while strengthening ties between the United States and Europe. As the airline continues to chart new paths, passengers can look forward to a wider range of destinations to explore.
