If we know one thing about Megan Thee Stallion, she’s a huge advocate for health and wellness. The award-winning recording artist created The Pete and Thomas Foundation, named after her parents, to serve women, children, and underserved communities with education, housing, health, and wellness resources.
That’s why it is no surprise that the proud Texan provides a way for young girls and women to de-stress.
She’s collaborating with the organizations Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium for the organization’s inaugural “Joy is our Journey Dream Bus Tour!”
Both organizations invite Black girls, young women, and gender-expansive youth ages 12-24 to come to a “safe space” where they can “connect, create, and exhale.”
“I’m really excited to have The Pete and Thomas Foundation partner with the Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium on this special initiative,” says Megan. “We both share the same goals – to empower our young Black women, give them the resources to succeed, and help them pursue their personal and professional dreams.”
Here’s What To Know
The program kicked off on Aug. 20 and runs through Sept. 17 throughout the south. It’s free for everyone to attend. Organizers describe it as a mini-festival-like experience with interactive workshops and programming focusing on beauty, arts, culture, entrepreneurship, and more.
“We are super excited to partner with The Pete and Thomas Foundation,” says LaTosha Brown, founder of Southern Black Girls. “Megan is the ultimate Southern Black Girl. She is an entertainer, an artist, and a creative, who masterfully balances being a hot girl, a college girl, and a businesswoman. She certainly embodies the unapologetic spirit of our organization.”
