This hidden gem is the unofficial cave capital of the Philippines and nature lovers will enjoy checking out the area. The Calbiga Caves have one of the largest cave systems in Asia. Spelunkers and rugged explorers can explore this underrated destination. Some of the most popular sites that Samar offers are Sohoton Cave, Lobo Cave, and Tarangban Falls. Palaui Island is a protected area in the municipality of Santa Ana in Cagayan, Philippines. This paradise on the northern tip of the Philippines is a serene place to visit. The island has limited accommodation options on the mainland so visitors can immerse themselves into the local culture. Because the island is well protected, the cliffs have vibrant greenery. Some of the most interesting parts of Palaui Island are the healthy coral, white sand beaches, camping sites, and the old lighthouse. The Cape Engaño Lighthouse is a historic site in Santa Ana that highlights the Spanish colonial period and architecture. Taal is a stratovolcano and caldera lake in the Philippines that is located in the province of Batangas. It is in the southwestern part of Luzon, the country’s largest island. Taal Volcano is a 984-foot structure that is considered one of the world’s smallest active volcanoes. It is located inside Taal Lake which is the third largest lake in the Philippines. The caldera that Taal volcano created in prehistoric times is complex and is one of the world’s greatest volcano-tectonic depressions. Even if visitors are not interested in geography or volcanology, Taal is an incredibly impressive site.

Sleeping Dinosaur Island is named that because of its peculiar shape which looks like a resting prehistoric creature. The land formation is located in Mati, Davao Oriental in Mindanao which is at the southern edge of the Philippines. It is a very popular hiking area since it has such vibrant and lush nature which looks more striking against the bright blue waters. Most visitors go on a trek to explore the island up close and personal. However, to see all the island has to offer, plane tours are also available.  

Caramoan Islands
