When it comes to riding ATVs, motorcycles, snowmobiles, and PWCs, you probably can’t imagine women, specifically Black women, taking part. Thankfully, a new council put together by Polaris is here to change that narrative.

Twelve phenomenal female riders have come together as part of Polaris’ inaugural Empowersports Women’s Riding Council. The badass ladies come from all backgrounds in life with one goal in mind: to improve diversity and inclusion for all women in the powersports space.

The Empowersports Women’s Riding Council is composed of distinguished women who are riders, adventurers, leaders, and entrepreneurs who bring unique perspectives and insights to the powersports space.

Of the new council members is Porsche Taylor, cross-country rider and founder of Black Girls Ride Magazine. Most recently, Porsche mounted her bike and rode nearly 3,000 miles with a rally of women to speak at the March on Washington.

“When I was asked to speak at the March on Washington, I was literally speechless and overcome with emotion,” says Porsche. ” As I rode almost 3000 miles to DC, I formed these words. I wanted to represent us well on the world’s stage, and convey the importance of our participation in the movement.”

If Porsche Taylor looks familiar, it’s because you’ve probably seen her in a Polaris advertisement or two. In addition to her duties at BGR, Porsche serves as an ambassador for Polaris and their company of brands, including Indian Motorcycle, Polaris Slingshot, and Polaris Adventure.

Actor, musician, educator & Speakers Bureau ambassador, Gevin Fax, also joins the council. Gevin, a native Californian and member of the global women’s motorcycle collective, The Litas, has been riding dirt bikes since she was twelve years old. With 50 years of riding under her belt, Gevin has clocked over one million recorded miles.
