A “picture-perfect Barbie walk-through experience” hit the Bahamas this Memorial Day weekend thanks to a partnership between Atlantis Paradise Island and Mattel. According to a press release, the resort-wide experience includes select Barbie-themed accommodations, pool cabanas, activities, and more. Even some of the resort’s meal and drink options have been Barbiefied.
Atlantis’ collaboration with Barbie began May 24 and will run through the summer, according to Mattel. The toy company noted that the partnership celebrates Barbie’s 65th anniversary, which passed on March 9, 2024.
“What makes the Barbie Bahamas Beach Vacation: Where Atlantis Dreams Come True special is that it is meant to be enjoyed by all generations and will offer a range of accessible experiences,” noted Audrey Oswell, President and Managing Director of Atlantis Paradise Island. “We are a resort that has a long history of delivering unforgettable experiences to our guests, and firsts to The Bahamas. Barbie fits that bill.”
What Will Guests Experience?
The Coral — one of Atlantis’ five hotels — designed rooms and suites with “pink walls, shell-shaped throw pillows, disco balls, doll-themed artwork, and mirrors with decals.” Elsewhere, the resort will have playsets, Barbie Land backdrops, and even more decor. Atlantis will additionally host Barbie movie nights, pool parties, and more.
Those who really want to immerse themselves in the doll experience can stroll through the Barbie Boardwalk Adventure (starting June 7) at The Royal, another of Atlantis’ accommodations. The experiential setting will have life-sized doll boxes, a pink carpet, and a Barbie ball pit.
What Will Guests Eat and Drink?
The list of pink Barbiecore offerings across the resort’s over 40 food and drink establishments is extensive. Whether you’re looking for fine dining, fast casual, or family-friendly, it seems like there will be something for you. Additionally, there will be on-theme options for both alcoholic drinks and mocktails.
