A British passenger discovered her 63-year-old husband had passed away sometime during their flight. According to Mirror, she found him unresponsive in his seat as the plane made its way to Paphos, Cyprus.
He had lost consciousness and she quickly summoned the cabin crew for help.
What we know:
“We can confirm that he passed away during the flight but at the moment there’s not much more we can say,” Cypriot Police said to the Cyprus Mail.
They also added that they have no reason to suspect foul play.
The plane landed around 11:00 and the man was immediately rushed to Paphos General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Prior incidents
Back in April, there was a similar tragic incident in which a British mother passed away during a flight. Helen Rhodes was flying back home to the UK after living in Hong Kong for the past 15 years.
A few hours into the flight, it was discovered that Helen was unresponsive and had passed away in her sleep. Attempts to resuscitate her were unsuccessful.
How it ended
For the remainder of the flight’s eight-hour journey, her devastated children had to sit next to her until the plane landed in Frankfurt, Germany knowing she was no longer alive.
A neighbor of the family later said that Helen’s mother said her daughter had passed away as a result of a “suspected heart attack.”
