As a digital nomad working in multiple industries it’s important for me to have a convenient and comfortable work station when I’m on the go. And since a lot of us have converted to “work from home” workers since the pandemic, it’s become harder to find a seat at a Starbucks or Barnes & Nobles to grab a coffee and answer some emails. So on my latest trip to New York City I had the pleasure of staying at the brand new voco Times Square South, an IHG Hotel. It was the perfect place for a digital nomad like myself to relax, enjoy what the city has to offer, and still get my work done.
The voco Times Square South hotel sits in walking distance from most of downtown New York City’s main attractions like Times Square, the Theater District, Macy’s Herald Square, Madison Square Garden, and Hudson Yards. I was close to all the major subways and if I needed to take a meeting in Jersey City, Penn Station and Port Authority were just minutes awa,y as well.
Not only was the location perfect, but the hotel’s spaces and amenities fit all my needs. I got a great start to my day with their stellar breakfast menu. The food tasted just as great as it looks! The hotel also has a gym for those who like to keep up with their workouts on their travels.
The hotel’s Greenhouse features an array of comfortable couches and coffee tables where you can kick back with a group of your friends, conduct meetings, or catch up on some reading. There’s also plenty of outlets across the floors for you to bring your laptops and plug in. If you thrive in a more office type setting then get your work done in voco’s Work Pods on the main floor of the hotel. You can quickly slide in and focus on your tasks.
Last but definitely not least, as a VIP IHG Hotel member, I had the opportunity to stay in one of their top floor rooms at the voco. After a day of getting to the bag and hitting the local bars and restaurants with clients, my voco hotel room featured floor-to-ceiling windows with a view of some of the tallest buildings in Times Square, a pleasant view at night as the city lit up like no other place in the world. Other room highlights included the plush queen-sized bed, flat-screen TV, and a spacious bathroom with shower and plant-based bath products from Apotheke.
Next time you’re in New York City and you need a place to stay that provides the perfect work/life balance, I highly recommend IHG’s voco Times Square South Hotel.
