After two years Delta has relaunched its SkyMiles Experiences program. Due to the pandemic, the airline had to suspend the auction-based program, which dates back to 2007. SkyMiles Experiences let travelers use their miles to bid on exclusive dining experiences, excursions, and celebrity events.

What type of experiences can you get?

The latest SkyMiles Experiences website has been updated and members can already bid on several experiences. Recently, there were two experiences for wine lovers: a private wine tasting in Napa Valley for two, which included a free bottle of wine to take home. And another wine experience at Brewer-Clifton Winery in California for four. The Brewer-Clifton experience also included a one-year membership with two cases of wine. For those that enjoy fine dining, there’s an opportunity for one lucky bidder and their guest to enjoy a Michelin two-starred restaurant, D.C.’s Jont DC. Jont DC is a 14-seat restaurant led by Chef Ryan Ratino.

“We’re so excited to relaunch SkyMiles Experiences and bring back exclusive, aspirational experiences for our members,” stated Ai Stiver, Delta’s vice president of merchandising and ancillary revenue, to Travel + Leisure.

“In years past, our members have raved about these once-in-a-lifetime type experiences, and we’ll be adding even more locally focused experiences throughout the country that appeal to all of our members’ diverse interests.”

A few other very exclusive auction offers from SkyMiles Experiences include the chance to attend the 56th annual Country Music Awards in Nashville. The member that wins the auction will also get an autographed guitar, “signed by a few country music’s hottest stars,” stated a representative from Delta.

Another opportunity is the Cayman Islands’ four-day annual cookout held at the Ritz Carlton in January 2023. The cookout will include world-renowned chefs, Andrew Zimmern, Eric Ripert, Daniel Boulud, José Andrés.

Another great experience coming up in the auction is a stay at Borealis Basecamp in Alaska, a full week-long luxury road trip across Europe including Iconic Luxury Hotel stays, and a culinary tour of Athens and Aegina Island.
