It’s no secret that Issa Rae loves Black-owned Los Angeles, so it should come as no surprise that she wants others to feel the same way. She’s inviting people to spend a weekend in her hometown to experience the culture, Black-owned businesses, and communities that have influenced her storytelling in her hit television series Insecure.
But it’s not just a stay in any random place in LA, it’s her actual home!
One lucky person along with one other guest will have the opportunity to stay the weekend in her South LA residence, where you will have incredible panoramic views of the city and quite the lineup of activities.
According to the description on Airbnb, Issa Rae has a stylish mid-century View Park home that’ decked out with artwork by local Black artists such as Maya Iman, Vakseen, and Dominique Brown.
Outside her home, she has curated a list of some of her favorite landmarks in neighborhoods like Baldwin Hills and Inglewood through her personal guidebook. Some of her local spots include Eso Won Books, My 2 Cents, Supervsn Studios, Gorilla Rx Wellness, Swift Café, and more.
She also wants you and yourself to carve out what she calls “me time” and wind down. One activity she has planned for you is pampering yourself at Sienna Natural Hair Care.

As if this list couldn’t get better, Issa Rae will virtually welcome you at check-in and says a concierge will be there throughout the stay to make sure you and your guest are comfortable.
It’s not a contest, she warns, so you are responsible for your ticket to and from LA. Bookings open at 10 a.m. PT on Feb, 8 for one stay on February 12 through February 14. Click here for more information.
