Ghamam, aka “above the clouds,” is a new multi-level, family-friendly destination in the United Arab Emirates’ Sharjah region. Located in the city of Kalba, the anticipation of forthcoming panoramic views of mountains, valleys, and the coast awaits. In addition to being new and one-of-a-kind, the destination also promises to be an environmentally friendly addition to the area.
Ghamam will reportedly sit just under 2789 feet above sea level. The development is topped with a dramatic, freestanding crescent moon-shaped arch. A rendering of the project shows a modern building with tons of glass windows interwoven with green spaces. According to Travel And Tour World (TTW), the landscaping will include over 4,500 olive, apple, pomegranate, and grape trees.
On its ground floor, Ghamam will have a multipurpose venue, a prayer room, and places to view Kalba. On the upper floor, the development will have a reading room, a cafe, and a restaurant. Adding to the family-friendly atmosphere, the new structure will reportedly also have a theater and play areas.
TTW noted that “a 100-room hotel will provide luxurious accommodation options for tourists.” That said, it was unspecified whether the hotel would be nearby or incorporated into the new build. Moreover, the source also mentioned a soccer stadium sitting 2132 feet above sea level.
The Khaleej Times — an English-language publication published in Dubai — claims the hotel will be on a nearby mountain. The source added that Sharjah’s ruler, Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, noted that the soccer stadium’s high placement would allow players to compete in cooler and humidity-free conditions.
