Sundays in Houston are a bit boozier since a new Black-owned restaurant opened its doors. The Drunken Corner opened in January 2022 and customers have been raving about its exceptional array of food and drinks. The restaurant creates a new space where Black culture and cuisine can thrive and be celebrated. Led by a team of Black men, this restaurant sets the stage for a new generation of Black-owned restaurants.
Owned by Terrel Foy, the Drunken Corner is becoming everyone’s favorite eatery throughout Houston. The restaurant has grown increasingly popular on social media. Folks are traveling from out of state to check out this new restaurant taking over H-Town. The brand is opening a second location this Fall and it’s just the beginning of what’s to come from the Drunken Corner.
With customers willing to wait hours for a chance to dine, The Drunken Corner is a true Houston gem that’s blossoming into a southern favorite for travelers.
An Atmosphere Curated For The Culture

When it comes to Sunday Brunch, the Drunken Corner is definitely the place to be next time you’re in Houston. The vibes in the restaurant seem specially curated with Black culture in mind. Merging chic interior design elements with fun indoor and outdoor seating options, this eatery has its own signature style and vibe that can’t be found elsewhere in Houston.
One of our favorite things about the Drunken Corner is its comfy and stylish outdoor patio. Decorated with a grass wall, wooden outdoor seating, and rotating fans, this patio provides a pleasant dining experience where guests can be themselves and enjoy good food. The restaurant is family-friendly and kid-friendly with no dress code. So guests can come as they are with the whole family.
The Drunken Corner doesn’t require a reservation. So service is on a first-come, first-served basis. A true testament to the heart of travelers visiting the establishment, a sign reading “Catch Flights, Not Feelings” hangs in the eatery making a bold statement. Upon arriving at the Drunken Corner, guests know it is someplace they want to be. Pair that with dynamic customer service, a welcoming atmosphere, and the culinary masterminds in the back and you’ll have a food destination folks never want to leave.
The Food Is Off The Chain

With a kitchen led by Head Chef Kenneth Johnson and Assistant Executive Chef Shawn Patterson, the Drunken Corner is dishing out the best in Southern American cuisine. Together, the pair have a combined culinary experience of over 30 years and they use household ingredients to create the restaurant’s beloved menu items.
The eatery has a variety of menus, including dinner, happy hour, and brunch. Guests now can enjoy brunch every day until 4 PM and all day on Sundays. Although the restaurant was inspired by Foy’s previous years as a bartender, Patterson says his eye for food is the foundation of the Drunken Corner. And customers couldn’t agree more.
When it comes to brunch, Patterson says you can’t go wrong with the Crab Cake Latrice. Served over grits, this crab cake sensation surrounded by shrimp and covered in boudin sauce, bacon bits, and house aioli has quickly become a favorite. Other dishes like the crackling chicken, french toast sliders, and chicken n’ egg are also fan favorites guests can’t stop talking about.
The Drunken Corner also has you covered for dinner and lunch. Their Fried Catfish Mardi Gras is incredible and classic dishes like chicken plates, lamb chops, and shrimp and grits are taken to new heights at this H-Town establishment.
Happy Hour Is A Must

Staying true to its name, the Drunken Corner is a must-visit during happy hour in Houston. Not only is the food superb, but guests can’t stop talking online about the intensity of their drinks. To be frank, if you’re looking for a strong one, the bar at the Drunken Corner is where you need to be.
Foy’s bartending history set the standard for drink options at the restaurant. The number one hit guests seem to love the most is the Big Poppa. The eatery’s strongest drink, the Big Poppa combines a frozen sidebar and margarita with cognac and Grand Marnier floaters to give you the perfect buzz. The bartenders keep the drinks flowing during brunch and happy hour at the Drunken Corner so if you’re looking for a boozy breakfast experience, this is the place to be.
A Cashless Establishment

If you plan on visiting the Drunken Corner, keep in mind that the restaurant is completely cashless. So be sure to have your debit or credit card handy. Some patrons have complained about parking online, but there is a parking lot for customers directly across the street from the building. The restaurant is open Wednesday through Sunday.
