Good news for those who love Colombia, and luxury travel at the same time. Apple Leisure Group (ALG) announced that it will open the newest luxury resort in Cartagena— Dreams Karibana Cartagena Beach & Golf Resort— in April 2022.
This city lies inside nearly seven miles of fortified walls, dominated by a fort that was built in the Spanish colonial era and became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1989. Recently, Cartagena has become one of the top destinations for international travelers in Latin America due to its beautiful landscapes and beaches.
The Colombian city is also a favorite to visit by African-Americans due to its Afrocentric atmosphere.
According to ALG, Dreams Karibana Cartagena Beach & Golf Resort will have 268 rooms, all with a private terrace, balcony or swim-out access. As part of the brand’s signature ‘unlimited luxury’ inclusions, the resort will offer five bars and lounges, three gourmet à la carte dining choices, pool and beach service, unlimited international and domestic top-shelf spirits, 24-hour room and concierge services, daily activities and entertainment and nightly events.
“We are very eager to introduce Dreams Karibana Cartagena Beach & Golf Resort, AMR Collection’s first property in South America, to deliver the Dreams Resorts & Spas brand experience in one of Colombia’s top destinations,” said Javier Coll, group president of global business development at Apple Leisure Group, in a statement.
Guests of all ages staying at Dreams Karibana Cartagena Beach & Golf Resort will have access to a private beach club and 18-hole golf course, designed by Nicklaus Design.
Connecting rooms are available for families, weddings or groups. The resort will offer more than 24,700 square feet of meeting and event space. Music-themed parties and live entertainment will create the perfect family-friendly vacation for all to enjoy.
This is the second luxury resort to be opened in Cartagena this year. In August 2021, Four Seasons made public that the hotel chain will open its third property in Colombia, a hotel and private residences in a collection of historic buildings very close to the walled city.
Four Seasons will revitalize and restore several buildings dating back to the 16th century. The new hotel will feature 131 rooms, including a royal suite and a presidential suite. The property will also include 16 private residences.
