Tansy is located in Burbank, California and owned by Shawna Christian. The colorful fair-trade garlands, plants, metal bells, mobiles, pom-poms and sun catchers, are reportedly what keeps people coming in.
33. Hardware 2.0
The owner, Bob, first opened what was named Brothers Community Hardware in 1989 He noticed there weren’t any Black owned hardware stores in the area, and he wanted to change that.
He finally settled into what is known today as Hardware 2.0, now managed by his son Jitu. Located in Brooklyn, the family-owned and independent hardware store also has a growing plant shop.
