2. Tal & Bert

Tal & Bert was founded in February 2020 by husband & wife duo, Ray & Val Talbert. Their creations combined their love of outdoors, recreational mining, and art. They started their company in their home studio which rapidly grew into a two studio company with a brick & mortar storefront.

3. Plant & Vessel

Plant + Vessel is a collection of studio pottery and ceramic techniques based in Austin, Texas.

4. Natty Garden

Natty Garden opened in 2008, selling a small selection of plants, shrubs, soil, and pots. As a Brooklyn-based plant store, the owners try to incorporate the culture and style of the borough into their selection of plants and their laid-back, yet cheerful attitude.

Tansy is located in Burbank, California and owned by Shawna Christian. The colorful fair-trade garlands, plants, metal bells, mobiles, pom-poms and sun catchers, are reportedly what keeps people coming in.

33. Hardware 2.0

The owner, Bob, first opened what was named Brothers Community Hardware in 1989 He noticed there weren’t any Black owned hardware stores in the area, and he wanted to change that.

 

He finally settled into what is known today as Hardware 2.0, now managed by his son Jitu. Located in Brooklyn, the family-owned and independent hardware store also has a growing plant shop.

34. New Growth Plant Shop

Located in Carrollton, Texas, New Growth Plant Shop offers indoor plants, as well as plant consultation and home design.

Founder Nika Vaughan has almost 20 years of experience in the beauty industry, and noticed clients kept trying to buy plants from her studio. xN Studio is a lifestyle. Without borders. Founded in Brooklyn, NY in 2011 by DC-area native Nasozi Kakembo. Her flower pots, known as “pot twist” are inspired her childhood of growing up surrounded by plants and African textiles.
