3. Panama City, Panama For As Low As $170 Round-Trip
Panama City consistently ranks high as a top destination for Black travelers and expats because the culture allows you to feel welcomed and right at home.
June is the rainy season in Panama City. If you don’t mind periodic showers throughout the day and some humidity, it’s a great time to go, especially if you’re on a budget.
Costs and crowds are lower during the rainy season, which lasts until about November.
During your visit, be sure to explore the streets of San Felipe. Locals refer to it as Casco Viejo. Even though it’s about four avenues long, it’s a UNESCO-protected neighborhood that’s great for Instagram. It’s located in the heart of the old city.
Another activity to consider is a visit to the Panama Canal. This iconic and artificial waterway connects the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and is one of the Seventh Wonders of the Modern World.

4. Oranjestad, Aruba For As Low As $282 Round-Trip
We’re always hesitant to encourage travel to the Caribbean islands during the Atlantic Hurricane Season, which lasts from June 1 through November 30. Every hurricane season is different, but we would hate for you all to be stranded.
But some islands are an exception. Aruba is one of them as it sits below the Hurricane belt. While anything is possible during this turbulent season, direct hits from Hurricanes are pretty rare in Aruba. The last recorded storm was a Category 2 in 2007, followed by reported wind and flood damage from the tail end of Hurricane Matthew in 2016.
Generally speaking, Aruba is a good destination if you want to travel to the Caribbean while minimalizing the risks this summer.
Regarding what to do, The World’s Happiest Island is known for its beautiful beaches, water sports, and activities. We can’t forget the island’s famous Flamingo Beach at the Renaissance Hotel.
One thing we highly recommend, however, is renting a car to explore the island and take in the stunning views. Read more on our Aruba activity guide here.
Those departing from the East Coast have the best flight deals to Aruba for less than $400 round-trip.

June is the start of the summer months and a celebratory time for Scandinavia, where people deal with colder climates for most of the year.
In Reykjavik, whale watching in Husavik, touring inside Iceland’s dormant Thrihnukagigur volcano, and exploring the Nature Exploratorium Perlan are all must-sees.
And, of course, a trip to Iceland wouldn’t be complete without a day trip visiting the iconic Blue Lagoon.
