To create their list, Airbnb combed through booking data based on reservations for homes and experiences for the first half of 2018, resulting in a list of both the favorite and trending destinations poised to be a hit with travelers come next year. Based on bookings, the most popular cities for Airbnbers are as follows:

While the list for the most popular destinations has many predictable choices, the trending destinations (locations that have seen an influx in search and bookings when compared to last year), are far more diverse, with an increased interest in South Korea due to the 2018 Winter Olympics.
